Welcome to the 2025-2026 Season at the Milburn Stone Theatre!

A Season of Pure Imagination & Bittersweet Symphonies

Theatre is an art of transformation—a symphony of emotions that stirs the soul and invites us into worlds unknown. At its heart, community theatre is a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and shared experiences, bringing together artists and audiences in a collective journey of discovery. This season, we embrace the magic of Pure Imagination, weaving together stories that transport us from the whimsical to the dramatic, from the uplifting to the bittersweet. Each production is a journey—a chance to escape, to reflect, and to revel in the power of live performance. The 2025-2026 season at the Milburn Stone Theatre is designed to inspire, captivate, and entertain audiences of all tastes, offering high-quality entertainment that has something for everyone.

The 2024-2025 season was a transformative one for the Milburn Stone Theatre. It was our biggest season post-COVID, including  our highest performing production since 2019, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Building on that momentum, we are proud to present a season that will take you on a breathtaking adventure through heart-stirring stories, nostalgic musical tributes, and electrifying theatrical spectacles.

We begin our season with Cry-Baby: The Musical, a rebellious, rock-infused romp that captures the thrill of first love and the clash between conformity and individuality. Then, step into a world where technology meets teenage angst in Be More Chill, a sci-fi musical that blends humor, heart, and a dash of chaos in the quest to be "cool." From there, we dive into the shadows of a moving train with Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, a mystery steeped in deception, secrets, and the ultimate question—whodunit?

As the holiday season approaches, we bring you Lionel Bart’s Oliver!, a musical full of longing, resilience, and hope, wrapped in unforgettable melodies that remind us of the power of kindness. Then, in 2026, we are honored to present a classic American drama—a title we cannot reveal just yet, but one that we have sought after for many seasons and will resonate deeply with audiences when we announce it in July.

Midseason, we turn up the heat with Disaster!, a jukebox musical that pays tribute to the best (and most outrageous) hits of the ‘70s, packed with comedy, chaos, and toe-tapping tunes. From there, we invite you to indulge your sense of wonder with Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where golden tickets lead to a fantastical world of sweets, surprises, and life-changing lessons. Finally, we close our season with Cruel Intentions: The ‘90s Musical, a thrilling, seductive dive into a decade of grunge, pop, and high-stakes drama, set to the soundtrack of an unforgettable era.

We are especially excited to feature live orchestration in four of our musicals—Cry-Baby, Be More Chill, Disaster!, and Cruel Intentions—bringing each production to life with the rich, dynamic energy of live music.

Beyond our mainstage productions, our season is packed with exhilarating events: The Hubcaps return in August, The North East Fall Folk & Bluegrass Festival serenades us in September, The First State Symphonic Band brings holiday magic in December, our annual Celtic Festival returns in March, and Elvis: A Musical Celebration keeps the music alive in May.

Film lovers will rejoice as we host two Cecil County Independent Film Festival events—a “Best of the Fest” weekend in November, celebrating standout films from the festival’s first five years, followed by the full three-day festival in late May.

Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome Riverstone Theatre Company as they bring The Wizard of Oz to life in October/November. Dance lovers will also be delighted as Cecil Dance Theatre returns with its beloved productions of The Nutcracker and a ballet adaptation of Cinderella.

This season is a tribute to the power of imagination, nostalgia, and the beautifully bittersweet melodies of life. Whether you are looking for adventure, laughter, mystery, or pure musical theatre magic, the Milburn Stone Theatre is your home for high-caliber community theatre and unforgettable experiences.
